Together, we provide a focal point for all things Irish in The Netherlands.
Le chéile, soláthraímid lárionad do gach ní Gaelach san Ísiltír.

The Irish Club Netherlands (ICN) - Club Éireannachn a hÍsiltíre, De Ierse Vereniging Nederland - was founded in 1984 to provide a focal point for Irish people living in The Nederlands. With the growing number of Irish people settling here, the club plays a central role in providing cultural and social links with the Irish community in many parts of Europe. Its scope of activities include Irish language activities and lessons, Gaelic Sports, Irish Step, Set and Céilí Dancing, traditional Irish music and Irish culture.

It was set up to support the objective of allowing the growing number of Irish people settling in the Netherlands to maintain contact with each other and to provide support for sporting and cultural activities.

Along with its quarterly publication, 'Le Chéile', the club is organised both on a national basis and with Local Activity Groups (LAG).

Being a member gives you the opportunity to meet and communicate with like-minded people, to participate in activities, and to receive 'Le Chéile' magazine. Members also benefit from reductions in admission fees to organised events.

The club is a focal point and a forum for Irish culture. Over the years more and more of the international community have shown an interest in our activities. The club has responded to this with enthusiasm. We now welcome all nationalities with an interest in Ireland and its culture as members.

Last, but not least, as a non-profit organisation, the success of the ICN has been made possible by the continuous generosity of our faithful Sponsors.

Ba mhaith liom an mórmheas atá agamsa ar an sárobair atá á dhéanamh ag Club Éireannachn a hÍsiltíre a chur in iúl.

Tugann clár na n-imeachtaí cultúrtha, spóirt agus eile, a eagraíonn an Club go rialta, pointe comhtheagmhála ríthábhachtach dosna hÉireannaigh athá ina gcóna&aicute; san Ísiltír. Is tábhachtach an pháirt atá ag an gClub, agus cumainn eile dá leithéid, chun tacaíocht a thabhairt do phobal na hÉireannar fud an domhain; cuireann siad cultúr agus ionarkas na hÉireanng go ginearálta, agus an Ghaeilge go háirithe, chun chinn chomh maith.

Is maith a thuigimse nach n-éireodh le cumainn ar nós Club Éireannachn a hÍsiltíre gan fuinneamh agus tréanobair na mball ar feadh blianta. Ba mhaith liom, mar sin, aitheantas a thabhairt don dianobair atá déanta ag an mbord reatha agus dosna boird a bhí ann roimhe sin. Gan a leithéidí, is cinnte nach mbeadh an rath ar an gClub atá le feiscint go soilér inniu.

I would like to express my admiration for the work carried out by the Irish Club of the Netherlands.

Through the many cultural, sporting and other activities the Club organises throughout the year, it provides a very important focal point for Irish people living in the Netherlands. The ICN, and organisations like it, play a vital role not just in supporting the Irish community across the world, but also in promoting Irish culture and identity more generally, including the Irish language.

I know that groups like the ICN can only exist thanks to the time and effort put in by their members, and I would like to pay tribute to the hard work of the current and previous boards, without which the ongoing success of the Club would not be possible.
